We are growing fast and we need people to join us and get involved with our projects. We are looking for group facilitators, activity hosts and people to help out with our events.
“It is not enough to be compassionate — you must act.”
— The Dalai Lama
Group Hosts / Facilitators
Our volunteer group facilitators and activity hosts are at the core of our service to the community. Our volunteers do more than just lead a walk or host a group activity. They help people discover the power of self-care, they build a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment and most important of all they help people connect with others.
“Every person can make a difference, and every person should try.” — John F. Kennedy
Who can volunteer
Volunteering for Space to Talk is suitable for a broad range of people, you need to be over 18, you don't need any specific skills or qualifications. We provide all training required. You will need to be empathetic, caring and patient and have a motivation to help others.
We ask volunteers to give what time they can but also be honest with how much time you can commit.
Example: hosting a single group meeting will need 3 hours to include set-up and clear down. Our meetings take place across the week and weekend.
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” — Aesop
We arrange several events across the year, including hill walks and cycle rides. Our events can be single day taster type activities or multi-day endurance challenges.
We need volunteers to assist with various roles including planning and organisation, on site administration and event management and volunteers to take part in these events and lead teams.
Where training is required we will provide this and we provide all travel and accommodation.
