Updates and News from Space 2 Talk. December 2023
Welcome to our newsletter with a round up of news and events and a look ahead at what's on duirng December and our plans for 2024.
Thank you to My Pink Moon for supporting our Delapre Walk & Talks.
Our Saturday's can be a little frantic, we have numerous walking groups, Nordic walkers arriving for thier course, our base camp to set up and this week some VIP guests from Women4Women Walks (see below). Saturday 25th November, began with an extra boost, with a visit from Haley of My Pink Moon, with a cheque!
Haley is a person centred counsellor and spiritual healer with a great message:
"When you start to believe in yourself and discover who you are, it opens you up to much bigger things and you'll become aware not only of the magic around us but also of the magical powers within."
Women 4 Women
On 25th November we were pleased to welcome a group of ladies from Women4Women Walks group who joined us for a walk around Delapre. Although cold, the weather was glorious, clear skies and winter sun presenting the Abbey grounds at their best. Pete led the walk while one of our Space volunteers Jaquie, who is currently in training to be a guide for the Abbey, provided some historical context to the Abbey and its grounds.
What's On this December & January
As the winter sets in we beleive the support we offer and the oportunity to get out and walk in the winter sunlight, is more important than any other time of the year and our programme continues to offer regular group walk & talks, Nordic walking and events through December and into the new year.
We will be taking a break over the festive period, our last Walk & Talk will be at Delapre on 20th December and we return on 6th Januraury. But before this we still have a packed programme:
We are excited to be delivering Cycling with Confidence course both at Delapre Abbey and Northampton University. This programme is part of the Active Quarter partnership, funded by the Department for Transport through West Northamptonshire Council. This initiative is specifically designed for individuals living in West Northamptonshire who can ride a bike but seek an extra boost of confidence for their everyday cycling journeys.
Although initially programmed to run through November and December, we do hope to be able to offer this course or similar in the New Year, we will keep you informed.
Action for Happiness
Our Action for Happiness groups will continue through December and January. The last group for 2023 will be held on 20th December at Delapre Abbey.
