About the event
Kinder Scout is the highest point of the Peak District National park. A large moorland plataue, Kinder can be a difficult area to navigate. There are a number of routes up to the plataue and we will take the direct route from Edale using the famous Jacob's ladder bridleway, a route cut into the steep slope back in the 1700s and now a popular well paved walk.
Once on the plataue we haev a number of options depending on how our legs feel, we can continue on the famous Kinder Downfall, a waterfall that in certain high wind conditions the water gets blown back up the fall.
We return to Edale via the footpath that follows the edge of the plataue passing various interesting rock formations on the way.
Our route is felxible but expect to be out on the hill for at least 4 hours. We will find a suitable place to stop have have lunch and aim to be back to Edale by 4pm latest.
As with all hill walking please ensure you have well fitting boots, warm clothing and waterproofs. Carry water and enough food and snacks for the day.
